A good fitting is essential to guarantee the stability of the saddle, the horse's freedom of movement, and its comfort during work. Thanks to its natural flexibility, cotton easily conforms to the horse's morphology, provided the size and positioning are appropriate.

The girth length should allow the buckles to reach the lower part of the billets, without riding up too high or being too close to the elbow. A girth that is too short creates excessive pressure points, while a girth that is too long compromises saddle stability.

The girth should be naturally positioned in the horse's girth groove, without being artificially pulled forward or backward.
Girth tightening should be progressive and symmetrical. It is recommended to tighten alternately on each side, in several steps, to respect the horse's rib cage and promote an even distribution of pressure. Once girthed, the girth should be firm but not overly tight: you should be able to fit two fingers between the girth and the horse's belly.

Finally, after a few minutes of walking, a slight adjustment may be necessary. Regular checking of the fitting, especially for horses undergoing morphological changes, ensures comfort, performance, and durability of the equipment.
