• In the case of a safety snap hook, the release system must always remain accessible and directed outwards, never ending up against the horse's head or chest. It is also important to regularly check that the mechanism slides freely and is not dirty.

• With a swivel snap hook, designed to prevent the lead rope from twisting, the attachment point must be on the horse's side and the swivel must remain free, without permanent tension. On a show lead, the attachment must allow natural sliding, remaining well aligned between the rider's hand and the attachment point, to avoid any angle or blockage.
