Fitting

Once the cheekpieces are installed, ensure that both bits (snaffle and curb) are positioned at the correct height and symmetrically. The snaffle bit should create 1 to 2 small wrinkles at the corners of the mouth, while the curb bit should be set slightly lower, without pulling down or constantly contacting the palate.

Ensure that the cheekpieces do not create any tension on the headpiece and that the reins slide freely. A good adjustment should allow the horse to chew and swallow calmly, a sign that the mouth and poll remain relaxed.
