• Spur position

The spur should be placed just above the heel, centered at the back of the boot. The shank should be horizontal, pointing backward, without pointing down or out. A well-positioned spur acts with a slight ankle movement, without lifting the heel or stiffening the leg.

• Strap placement

Pass the strap through the eyelets of the spur, then close it on the outside of the boot. The strap should be adjusted firmly but not tightly, to prevent the spur from turning while leaving the ankle free. A strap that is too tight blocks the ankle; too loose, the spur becomes imprecise.
