Bandages must be adapted to the size and morphology of the horse's limb. A bandage that is too short will not correctly cover the area to be protected, while a bandage that is too long can create bulk and pressure points. Once applied, the bandage must conform uniformly to the limb, without wrinkles or tighter areas. The tension must be consistent from start to finish, allowing the limb to remain free in its movements while benefiting from the desired support.

If excessive heat, swelling, or a mark appears after removal, the fitting must be reviewed immediately.

Always start in the middle of the cannon, never too high or too low.
Wrap the bandage from top to bottom, then back up, with a consistent overlap (around 50%).
The tension must be even throughout the entire length: neither too tight nor too loose.
Finish the bandage at the same level as the starting point, with the fastening positioned on the outside of the limb.
The bandages should support the limb, never compress it.
If in doubt about application, it is better not to bandage or to seek advice: the comfort, circulation, and safety of the horse come first.
