• The noseband: the key reference point
The noseband should sit approximately two fingers below the cheekbone.

Once adjusted, you should be able to fit two fingers between the noseband and the horse’s nose.

• The crownpiece: comfort behind the ears

A correct adjustment prevents pressure on the poll, which is a particularly sensitive area.

Once the halter is fitted:
- it should neither be too tight nor hang loosely,
- it should not create any areas of rubbing,
- the horse should be able to chew, breathe and move its head freely.
