Eventing Boots

The cross is one of the three disciplines practiced in Eventing Equitation: CCE.

It is the most impressive discipline because the obstacles are fixed, the gallop train is sustained. Protective equipment for riders, like horses, is therefore specific.

The horse’s legs are the part of the body most exposed to risks in this discipline. Specific protections are therefore required.

In cross country, in addition to protecting the tendons, we protect the bones: the guns.

Almost all riders protect the front and rear barrels with closed gaiters in order to limit the repercussions of a blow in the event of impact with fixed obstacles. The risk can go as far as fracture on impact.

However, at very high level, we see riders who use open gaiters, but specific cross all the same, depending on their horses: not to be reproduced during your training at home without expert advice! In cross country, the risk of mixing with your horse is increased if the forelegs hang up in the obstacle. The open cross-country gaiters allow the horse to keep its sensitivity on the cannon of the forelegs, while being covered at the level of the tendons.

The gaiters of cross, open or closed, include the interior of the ball.
